(Read time: five minutes) - Fun fact: I never change this.

After leaving the company in May, OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever has launched a new AI company called Safe Superintelligence (SSI), raising $1 billion from major investors like Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, and others. SSI, co-founded with Daniel Gross and Daniel Levy, is laser-focused on developing safe Superintelligence without the distractions of typical corporate pressures. The company aims to address AI safety directly, a mission Sutskever emphasized after leaving OpenAI following internal disagreements over the balance between safety and technological progress.

In a move that garnered attention, Sutskever was involved in temporarily removing OpenAI CEO Sam Altman last November. Although Altman was reinstated, Sutskever publicly apologized for his role in the controversy. His new venture, SSI, reflects a renewed focus on ensuring AI safety remains a top priority in the industry.

I still have one questionā€”what will humanity do with Superintelligence?

Cool Tech: Tesla Actually Smart Summon (ASS)

Tesla has finally released the long-anticipated Actually Smart Summon (ASS) feature, alongside another feature called Dumb Summon, in its latest software update. ASS allows Tesla owners to summon their vehicles from a parking spot to a nearby location, such as having the car pick them up in front of a store. At the same time, Dumb Summon enables simple forward or backward vehicle movement via the Tesla app.

The release notes highlight that ASS lets users direct their vehicle with the press of a button in the Tesla app, and it will autonomously come to the specified location. Dumb Summon provides more basic control, allowing users to manually adjust their vehicleā€™s position.

Currently, ASS is available only for Teslas equipped with Hardware 4, and thereā€™s no confirmation yet on its availability for older models.

I am so excited to test this out. Imagine parking far away from wherever youā€™re going and having your car come to you. Come on, this is incredible stuff!

Latest News.

My take: I am so ready for a world where AI cures all diseases that take away the ones we love. This is incredible stuff.

My take: The above article and this article put things into perspectiveā€”there is nothing more important from this new technology than saving this planet and the beings that inhabit it.

My take: The future of Hollywood is going to be so much AI. For better or worse, itā€™s coming. So long as itā€™s done the right way, I donā€™t see a problem with it.

My take: Are we going to live forever? ā€œThe US government just hired a researcher who thinks we can beat aging with fresh cloned bodies and brain updates.ā€
