I just started watching the new Terminator anime on Netflix, and this news has made me feel a little better about everything.
The US AI Safety Institute has inked agreements with Anthropic and OpenAI to collaborate on AI safety research, testing, and evaluation. These partnerships will give the Institute early access to new AI models, allowing for in-depth research on their capabilities and potential risks before public release.
Elizabeth Kelly, director of the US AI Safety Institute, emphasized the importance of these agreements as a critical step in ensuring AI’s safe development. The collaboration aims to advance the science of AI safety and aligns with the Biden-Harris administration’s efforts to promote secure AI innovation.

Cool Tech: World Robot Conference in Beijing
The World Robot Conference just took place in Beijing, and the technology coming out of the event was incredible. The industry widely predicts that 2024 will be the "year zero" for the practical application of humanoid robots, with various companies entering the mass production phase and attempting commercial deployment.

My take: It’s officially Waymo vs. Uber in the battle of the first autonomous cars to become mainstream. I feel that Tesla is not far behind. Let’s toast to not having to own cars much longer!
My take: We don’t have many details, but Midjourney is the OG of generative AI art, and I have a feeling they’ve put some real thought into whatever they’re building.
My take: Imagine playing with several prototype EVs on a private track. What a life. I’m a Tesla guy, but I am excited to see other players working to innovate further.
My take: If anyone can bring AI to the world and build trust, it’s probably Oprah. There is too much fearmongering around AI, and this is a significant next step.
