Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said AI can do tasks that would have demanded an enormous increase in staff. Such a shift could eliminate the need for much human labor in content creation or data entry.

Cool Tech: Apple’s Tabletop Robot

Am I the only one who thinks Apple seems glaringly behind in AI and robotics right now?

Apple is developing a tabletop robot with a large display, like an iPad mounted on a thin mechanical arm. It will act as the smart home base station, controlling all other smart devices, videoconferencing tools, and home security systems. The screen can tilt, rotate 360º, and auto-orient itself towards people. It uses Siri and Apple intelligence to respond to voice commands and identify different users.

Under Kevin Lynch’s supervision, Apple recently sped up its development process, aiming to launch it in 2026 or 2027 for around $1k. However, these prices could change over time as they refine more features. Could this be another milestone in the world of smart homes?
