(Read time: five minutes)

A few days ago, we hit 1,000 subscribers. Today, we’ve surpassed 1,500 and are racing toward 2,000. Uh oh!

I appreciate the support, and I hope you are actually taking the time to test out these apps, use the prompts, and are taking the time to learn more about how to incorporate AI into your life.

Reminder: you can also connect with me directly on Twitter and LinkedIn.

🤖 My new favorite AI app - Jigso's Sidekick for Slack

My company had 30-something employees a year ago, and Slack made life easy. Since we were acquired and moved to a roll-up of five companies, we have 300+ employees in Slack, and it’s become somewhat of a nightmare.

To make my life easier, I turned to Sidekick for Slack.

Things it helps me with:

  • It has ChatGPT built in, so when a link gets posted, it tells me what the link is for

  • It gives me a rundown of all the direct messages I received that day

  • It gives me a rundown of all important channel messages

  • It reminds me to respond to Slacks I have ignored

🚨 Interesting AI and tech news from the last few days.

A wide range of AI news this week. Is the world going to end because of a rogue chatbot? Maybe. But it’s probably best to add ChatGPT to your resume, just in case. (Still) keeping this here ➡️ a quick tip from me: go start an AI side hustle and make a shitload of money.

  • 🔗 Okay, should we be worried? A user of the new open-source autonomous AI project Auto-GPT asked it to try to “destroy humanity,” “establish global dominance,” and “attain immortality.” The AI, called ChaosGPT, complied and tried to research nuclear weapons, recruit other AI agents to help it do research, and sent tweets trying to influence others. • 🔗 Dr. Evil would love these freaking laser beams. A weed-obliteration machine that uses proprietary AI and computer vision technology for to-the-millimeter precision thinning of crop fields. Read more here.

  • 🔗 Editor’s note: Not a bad idea! China has hastily introduced the world's most restrictive law on generative AI, laying out strict prohibitions on what it can legally produce. Read more here.

🤖 AI apps for you to check out this week

These are a few apps I have been playing with and enjoying this past week.

  • 🔗 Brandwise - Brandwise automatically hides brand-damaging, hateful, racist comments and spam from your social media posts and ads. Yes, this is a real problem!

  • 🔗 Cyte - Cyte gives you the ability to search your entire digital history from your desktop apps to your browser usage. And you weirdos were worried about your browser history. This is so much worse.

  • 🔗 Atlassian Intelligence - If you use Atlassian projects like we do at my company (Jira, Confluence, Trello), you’ll love this!

  • 🔗 Saas Prompts - Browse 500+ actionable and readymade ChatGPT AI prompt ideas to help you grow your SaaS business.

  • 🔗 Gorilla Terminal - Say goodbye to the long hours spent on tedious research tasks. Gorilla Terminal's AI-driven insights and powerful tools provide a more efficient and enjoyable solution.

Check these fantastic platforms out, and let me know what you think. Reply to this email or tweet me directly.

🚀 ChatGPT can organize your notes and make you seem like an organized person.

I’m mega-OCD and take extremely detailed notes, so this is for all of you.

Kidding! Sort of.

Anyway, let’s say you take a ton of notes in a meeting and need to turn it into actionable items—well, there’s a prompt for that.

Let’s say you took a bunch of notes in a marketing meeting (don’t worry, these are not real notes)

Open ChatGPT-4, and use this prompt:

Organize these notes with action items and put them in an easy-to-understand order: [paste all of your notes here]

This is what you’ll get:

Key takeaway: The better your notes, the better this ChatGPT output will be. However, I have used this prompt for really intense notes, and it spit out a very strong plan for us to follow.

⭐️ My big thought of the day: marketing is not an expense!

I will continue to scream it from the mountain tops because I have to do it daily.

Say it with me: marketing is NOT an expense. It’s an investment in growth. Any business that does not have money for marketing should not be in business, period.
