No wonder many consider this to be the most important problem humanity has ever faced. The outcome could be prosperity or extinction, and the fate of the universe hangs in the balance.

Cool Tech: Apple’s GenAI
More smoke, more fire. Apple is going all-in on generative artificial intelligence this year, and I feel it will be big.
Why? Because for a lot of us (like me), Apple devices run their life. In my house, we have three Apple computers, three iPads, three iPhones, two Apple Watches, and four Apple TVs, and we always add more and more to the collection.
Bloomberg reported in October that Apple was investing $1 billion a year to catch up on GenAI, including efforts like a proprietary large language model called Ajax and an internal chatbot known as Apple GPT — and potentially even new hardware. The upcoming iPhone 16 models are rumored to be in line for a “significantly” upgraded Neural Engine, Apple’s brand of custom on-device chip for accelerating AI processing.
There are 2.2 billion active Apple devices on Earth, and all of them will run Apple’s AI. Siri is, and always has been, pretty sad. They have a lot of making up to do.

My take: This system is designed to identify experts in various fields so China can recruit them and gain an advantage in the global technology race, particularly in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and semiconductors. The US better beat them.
My take: The internet is about to be filled with more AI-generated content than not. It is just another phase in our way of life, which will one day be overtaken by something else.
My take: AI deciding what news I get? I dig it. I'm interested to see where this goes. If you fall in love with it, be sure to check in on your friends at Bagel Bots occasionally.
My take: Don’t be fooled. This is going to be the most insane election of our lifetime. AI is going to cause a severe amount of pain, and I’m not sure there is anything we can do about it. Please be smart out there.
