(Read time: five minutes) - Fun fact: I never change this.

OpenAI can now replicate voices from a single 15-second sample. Think about that for a second. The most powerful AI company on Earth can take a sample of anyone’s voice, even a world leader, and do anything with it.

Think about the average Facebook user and how likely they are to fall for stupid shit. We are in trouble.

OpenAI is committed to developing safe and broadly beneficial AI. Today we are sharing preliminary insights and results from a small-scale preview of a model called Voice Engine, which uses text input and a single 15-second audio sample to generate natural-sounding speech that closely resembles the original speaker. It is notable that a small model with a single 15-second sample can create emotive and realistic voices.

Cool Tech: Hume

Hume is much like other AI chatbots, except it goes to another level of personalization. Using Empathic Voice Interface (EVI), Hume can interpret emotional expressions and generate empathic responses. How?

Built on 10+ years of research, our models instantly capture nuance in expressions in audio, video, and images. Laughter tinged with awkwardness, sighs of relief, nostalgic glances, and more.

Hume AI

The movie Her is more “here” than ever, which may not be bad. Studies show that fewer babies are being born, there is more isolation, and there is more remote work than ever. Perhaps the age of befriending AI is here.

Today’s Tip: Build a More Efficient Team with AI

I know better than most that scaling a team or business can be daunting. Sometimes, you read about other working methods and want to explore them but don’t know where to begin. Today, we’ll talk about one of my favorite ways to work and how you can incorporate it into your workflow.

Below is a prompt you’ll need to fill in some blanks. I have an example below.

I'm seeking to enhance workflow and efficiency within my team, which primarily handles [type of work] projects. We've been facing challenges with bottlenecks in our [list issues], leading to delays in delivery timelines. Currently, we use [insert project management methods], but it seems insufficient for our needs. Our team consists of [size of team], including [list positions on the team]. We've tried using [current project management style] in the past, which helped in early stages but hasn't adequately addressed our current scaling challenges. Could you explain how the Kanban Method might be better suited for our situation? Specifically, I'm interested in understanding how it could help in managing our bottlenecks, improving communication and task visibility, and adapting to the changing priorities of our projects.

Example:

I'm seeking to enhance workflow and efficiency within my team, which primarily handles software development projects. We've been facing challenges with bottlenecks in our QA process, leading to delays in delivery timelines. Currently, we use a mix of email and basic project management tools for task tracking, but it seems insufficient for our needs. Our team consists of 15 members, including developers, QA specialists, and a project manager. We've tried using Scrum in the past, which helped in early stages but hasn't adequately addressed our current scaling challenges. Could you explain how the Kanban Method might be better suited for our situation? Specifically, I'm interested in understanding how it could help in managing our bottlenecks, improving communication and task visibility, and adapting to the changing priorities of our projects.

Fill in the blanks with enough information, and you’ll get an excellent output and much-needed help! You can read my response from ChatGPT here.
