During a recent interview, Reese Witherspoon discussed whether careers like hers or Jennifer Aniston’s could be possible because the world is moving from network television to streaming. But that’s not news for readers of this publication.
What she said about AI caught my eye—only because of how weird it is to say about Hollywood actors. Tech workers have said this at length, but Hollywood? I don’t know.
It’s here to stay, so just get used to it. And I think AI is not coming for your job; people who know how to use AI are coming for your job. So learn about it. It should be a tool upon which we lay our own creativity, our own humanity and our own ethics. That’s a whole conversation — for women and people of color and people who are othered sometimes in those developmental spaces really need to get in there… let’s not be scared of it, let’s dive in.

I am writing today’s edition of Bagel Bots from my brand new M3 MacBook, happily writing about the latest computers that will make this new computer obsolete in like six months. Nice.
One thing is clear—Apple is gearing up for an AI run. We’ve heard that the new iOS is very AI-focused, and of course, this big update is coming to all devices.
Apple is nearing the production of M4 computer processors which would have AI processing capabilities and plans to update every Mac model with it, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

My take: Now we know this stuff doesn’t just happen in movies. Imagine the NDAs these AI companies have in place—or will have after this.
My take: AI shopping is on the way, and it will be a giant boom for internet retailers. I believe influencers will make a lot of money sharing “shop the look” content.
