Google's New AI Search Engine is Coming

Google is in the process of building an “all-new search engine” powered by its new A.I. technology.

Today on 🥯 Bagel Bots, we’re discussing:

  • 🚀 1000+ subscribers in the first month! Wow. We can (still) do better.

  • 🔈 A new AI app to try—AudioPen

  • 📰 The latest AI news

  • 🤖 Cool new AI apps for you to check out

  • 🚀 Use Midjourney to create custom icons

  • ⭐️ My big thought of the week

(Read time: five minutes)

I celebrated hitting just over 700 subscribers in our first month a few days ago. Well, our first month is today, and we’ve crossed 1,000 subscribers. There are so many awesome AI newsletters, Twitter accounts, and news sources out there. I never really thought of this as a big thing I was trying to build; I just wanted this to be a fun side project. I’m still the CEO of my company and completely focused on that, period. But I thank all of you for making this newsletter an exciting thing in my life. Oddly enough, I do this to disconnect from my actual work.

🤖 My new favorite AI app - AudioPen

I am a notorious rambler at work (and probably at home). Much like the show House, sometimes I need to ramble out loud to others to make it make sense in my head.

Whether you are a rambling CEO, a strict VP of Technology, or a solocreator wanting to keep track of your thoughts - AudioPen is an excellent fit for you. Hit record, speak about what’s on your mind, and the app will organize your notes into text and make it look all snazzy.

Some uses for it that I recommend:

  • Say the things you want to convey in a team meeting and have it clean it up for you

  • Talk through marketing ideas with your team and have them organized for you

  • Make a list of everything you want to accomplish this week and why each thing is essential. It will clean that up for you, too.

🚨 Interesting AI and tech news from the last few days.

Is anyone else getting exhausted from how quickly AI is evolving? I cannot post all of the news, but I can post the stuff that I find really interesting. Keeping this here ➡️ a quick tip from me: go start an AI side hustle and make a shitload of money.

  • 🔗 Elon Musk has created a new company dedicated to artificial intelligence — and it’s called X.AI. The more smart people working on AI, the better. Innovation breeds competition, and competition in the market is good for everyone. Read more here.

  • 🔗 Google is in the process of building an all-new search engine powered by its new AI technology while at the same time working on adding new AI-based features to its current search engine under the project name Magi. Sorry, SEOs, life is about to get even more annoying for you. Read more here.

  • 🔗 Amazon has also entered the AI arena, and they are here to party. Amazon Bedrock provides you the flexibility to choose from a wide range of FMs built by leading AI startups and Amazon so you can find the model that is best suited for what you are trying to get done. Read more here.

  • 🔗 Thinking of starting a new venture? May I suggest AI? User spending goes up by more than 4000% on AI-powered apps. Read more here.

  • 🔗 Stanford released a 386-page report on the state of AI. Did I read the entire thing? Did I have an AI app condense it for me? Either way, you can get the cliff notes here.

Every major company on this planet is going all-in on AI. If you are not…well…I don’t know what to tell you.

🤖 AI apps for you to check out this week

These are a few apps I have been playing with and enjoying this past week.

  • 🔗 AudioPen - Just hit record. Then start rambling. AudioPen will clean things up when you're done.

  • 🔗 Kickresume - Create a beautiful resume quickly with the help of artificial intelligence and customizable templates.

  • 🔗 Looka - Use Looka’s platform to design a logo and build a brand you love.

  • 🔗 GodMode - This allows you to use AutoGPT in your browser. What’s AutoGPT, you ask? “Auto-GPT is an experimental open-source application showcasing the capabilities of the GPT-4 language model. This program, driven by GPT-4, chains together LLM ‘thoughts’ to autonomously achieve whatever goal you set. As one of the first examples of GPT-4 running fully autonomously, Auto-GPT pushes the boundaries of what is possible with AI.”

  • 🔗 WebscrapeAi - WebscrapeAi is the perfect tool for collecting data from the web without the hassle of manual scraping. No coding skills are required.

Check these fantastic platforms out, and let me know what you think. Reply to this email or tweet me directly.

Semi-kidding but also semi-serious editorial note: AutoGPT may eventually replace all of us, even me.

🚀 Make your own web and app icons with Midjourney.

As the CEO of a company specializing in custom design, I can tell you it’s hard to find and create icons for websites, social media posts, and print materials.

There are a few websites that we use and love, but I realized you could make awesome icons in Midjourney. Once you have these, you’ll upscale and move to Photoshop to clean them up for web or digital usage.

💡 Tip: Change the style to things like cartoon, hand-drawn, or organic, and watch how the same prompt changes over time.

⭐️ My big thought of the week: if you are reading this post, you can learn anything on Earth.

I have a dual degree in marketing and accounting, and not a single thing I learned at UNLV helped me in my career or the companies I’ve built.

I remember being a teenager, watching YouTube, and learning to code. I would figure out the single function I wanted to learn, searched for that on YouTube, tested it—pause, rewind, try again, pause, repeat, success!

I started building WordPress websites very early in life and have gone on to build two companies based on those skills. Those companies have earned millions of dollars, and everything I learned came from watching YouTube videos at the beginning.

If you have the ability to be online and read these words, you have the ability to go learn how to do anything on YouTube.

Stop sitting around and waiting.

Side note: I think the current college education system is a joke, and I think everyone should spend their time online learning to code before trying to get into Arizona State. Just my opinion! [no offense to Arizona State]
