(Read time: five minutes) - Fun fact: I never change this.
Even though there is a ton of smoke around TikTok being a horrible thing, I still lay in bed and watch videos for 20+ minutes each night.
Well, here is more news for the “TikTok is weird” file. According to The Verge, “ByteDance is secretly using OpenAI’s tech to build a competitor.”
More drama is on the way for OpenAI, but that’s par for the course for a company that is changing the world.

Many people are making a lot of money selling prompts online. There are also people like me giving you a ton of free ChatGPT prompts and tips every week.
Well, now OpenAI is giving you really thoughtful tips for LLM prompting. The OpenAI Prompt Engineering guide is valuable for anyone wanting to get the most out of their interactions with large language models (LLMs) like GPT-4.
The notable prompt strategies you’ll learn:
Write clear instructions: Be specific about what you want the model to do and avoid ambiguity.
Provide context: Include relevant background information and examples to guide the model.
Use different tactics:
Examples: Give the model examples of desired outputs.
Persona adoption: Ask the model to write from a specific perspective.
Delimiters: Clearly separate different parts of the prompt.
Task specification: Outline specific steps for the model to follow.
Output length: Specify the desired length of the generated text.

My take: Elon’s baby mama is releasing an AI doll with the same name as Elon’s AI, but the two are not connected. Wild stuff.
My take: Say what you will, but my guess is that many lonely people will adopt AI and robots for a number of things in the future.
My take: Everyone talks about using AI, but very few companies use it. Raising my hand as someone who uses it daily in my business.
My take: Let’s be honest—talking to customers at scale is hard. It’s rough for everyone in any business. More AI that makes people feel better faster is the key to scaling future businesses.
My take: Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat are all in a race to somewhere with as many AI tools as possible. I actually like it because it gets people used to using new technology.

Last week, I told you how to create anything out of Legos with a new ChatGPT Custom GPT. I decided to make my three pets out of Legos, which turned out amazing!
Here are Nala (Cat), Sophie (Black), and Baxter (Brown).
First, you’ll log into ChatGPT and use the Brick Box Generator GPT, which you can access here.
These are the prompts (super simple):
Black Boston Terrier named Sophie
Brown Boston Terrier named Baxter
Orange Cat named Nala
Here are the incredible images I got:
One thing to note: you cannot ask this GPT to recreate people or characters. BUT you can describe a person or character in detail and get pretty damn close. Try animals, food, places, and brands.

These newsletters take a little longer to put together than you may think. I have to source a ton of information, read it all, figure out what is meaningful, organize it in Apple Notes, and assemble each edition twice a week.
On Sunday, I spent a few hours getting ready for this week, and yes, I had a delightful everything bagel with lox, capers, tomato, onion, and chive cream cheese while doing it.
Have a great week!
