My new fave.

📊 My new favorite AI app - Rows

In another life, I was a data analyst. I was pouring through data in Adobe Analytics and creating endless tables and reports. It was a fantastic gig with LasVegas.com, and I miss everyone there dearly.

Data is annoying and time-consuming, and I have been waiting for AI to take over.

I love Rows. You can paste your table data into the app and then ask a ChatGPT-like query bar for anything you want about the data. It gives you the answer instantly. No more writing insane formulas; it just does it.

Here is the test data:

Here is me asking about the average sessions in Row A:

On the right, it gives me the answer instantly. You can see below that it automatically recommends deep dives. It also writes complex formulas and allows you to paste and run them.

This is awesome, and you need to try it out.

My tip of the day.

🖥️ Make Apple-level wave backgrounds with Midjourney.

I love the wavy desktop backgrounds that come with Apple OS, and I use the inspiration on dozens of projects I work on. Even at my company, we use these “blob backgrounds” (as we call them) on our website and social media posts.

Now, you can make your own in Midjourney.

Prompts:

macOS desktop background style, colorful waves vector, flat, shades of blue and purple, bright, flowing --ar 16:9 --s 750 --q 2 --v 5.2

You can also change the colors within the prompt:

macOS desktop background style, colorful waves vector, flat, shades of green and teal, bright, flowing --ar 16:9 --s 750 --q 2 --v 5.2

You can also change up the prompt to have more of a minimalistic, simple background (I like these more, but the wavy stuff above gets people excited). Be sure to change colors and scenery in the prompt below.

Minimilistic design with light blue and peach for a mac desktop wallpaper, mountains with clouds in the sky --ar 16:9

Do not forget to upscale these images with Nightmare AI.

Free inspiration.

💪🏼 Getting the right people matters.

Early in my career, I genuinely thought I could turn every C player into a B player and every B player into an A player.

After two successful exits and 8+ years of being a CEO, I can tell you I was wrong. Getting the right people matters quite a bit. I focus less on the resume and more on intangibles like caring, being motivated and caring about the work they’re doing.
