The headline I have been waiting for finally arrived. “Fake Biden robocall telling Democrats not to vote is likely an AI-generated deep fake.”

This is the literal smallest, most minuscule tip of the iceberg. The election is going to be a massive shitshow full of AI madness. There is good AI that I truly believe in, and then there is this.

Cool Tech: Burger-Cooking Robots

If you’re a long-term reader of Bagel Bots, you know I am very big on robots in restaurants. I love going out to eat, but I have a lot of issues with how many restaurants are run. Robots solve a lot of the issues I have.

Aniai, a startup that has built a burger-grilling robot, Alpha Grill, said today it has raised $12 million, bringing its total raise to $15 million.

Robot adoption in the restaurant business is becoming popular as it can help restaurants address their high pain points like labor shortages, and rising wage issues. Robotics enables restaurants to save 30% to 70% of labor costs, and restaurants could replace more than 80% of restaurant positions with robots, according to a research report.

Yes, in this case, I am advocating for technology that may cost people jobs. But it could also allow restaurants to move these people into new experience-building roles and let the robots do the manual stuff.
