I remember seeing nothing but “the internet is just a fad” articles when I was growing up. Then, I built two companies and made millions of dollars online. I am making the same bets on AI.

Skepticism spreads around Wall Street as investors ponder when tech giants will start seeing real profits from their massive AI investments. Amazon, Intel, Microsoft, and Google have made little to no revenue from their AI products despite promising they would disrupt industries. This has caused Amazon and Intel’s stock prices to tumble on concerns about their AI spending without returns. Still, companies are pouring billions into the technology because they believe it can change basic business practices over the long run—even if that takes years or decades.

I find it interesting that tech leaders are making huge bets on artificial intelligence, all because they think it will change different industries sometime down the line. Google and Meta executives say there is more risk in underinvesting than overinvesting, so we may see the beginning of a race for AI supremacy. Sure, investors worry about when exactly this will pay off, but there’s no doubt that AI has disruptive power across sectors and creates possibilities where none existed before. The winners will be those who balance investment with creativity – then they’ll unlock everything machine learning can do for us. It could take some time, but I really believe we’re sitting on top of an impending wave of revolutionary AIs.
