Generative AI models outperformed top human players in market share and profitability in this automotive industry simulation. But when unpredictable events, like supply chain disruptions, hit? AI struggled hard. Despite early successes, virtual boards were quicker to fire the AI than humans. While AI excels at crunching data and optimizing strategies, it falters when handling “black swan” events, the unpredictable disruptions that demand intuition and foresight—areas where human CEOs still shine.
